Shilparamam is a traditional cultural village spread over 60 acres located at Hitech city in Madhapur. It is a must-visit destination in Hyderabad for anyone who loves handicrafts.

The State Government of Telangana established this village to promote and preserve Indian arts and crafts, and to motivate artisans.

Attractions:

This open-air craft village is home to a wide range of shops and studios where you can find traditional crafts, paintings, and sculptures. You can also get great ethnic wear at a bargain in many of the shops here.

A lot of dance and music performances are held throughout the year at the amphitheater, making Shilparamam the perfect place to experience the best of Hyderabad’s arts and culture.

Shilparamam Hyderabad has three museums inside the complex—the handicraft museum, the leather puppet museum, and the village museum.

There is an open-air sculpture park and a lake inside the complex with boating facilities. There are paddle boats available at a nominal price.

There is also a food court inside to satiate your hunger pangs. 

Tips:

  1. You need to haggle well. Expect the shopkeepers to give you a 50% discount on the asking price.
  2. Avoid going in the afternoon as it tends to be quite warm. Late evenings would be the best time to visit this place.
  3. If you are looking out for an elaborate meal rather than the snacks at the food court at the complex, then check out the vegetarian restaurant “Chutneys” right opposite Shilparamam
