About Sanjeevaiah Park:
Sanjeevaiah Park Hyderabad is one of the most iconic parks of the city. Located on the banks of the majestic Hussain Sagar Lake, this park has been an integral part of the city since the time it has come into existence. Named after Damodaram Sanjivayya, the park is a beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate.
Spanning over an area of about 92 acres, Sanjeevaiah Park Hyderabad is dotted with lush greenery and trees. It is a perfect place for a stroll with friends or family, or even to enjoy some solitude in the lap of nature. The park is also home to approximately 100 species of birds, both resident and migratory, as well as over 50 species of insects and butterflies.
Among the migratory birds, the pied crested cuckoo, which is often associated with the onset of the monsoon rains, can be commonly spotted there. Birds such as the spot bills, cranes, common coot, purple herons, cormorants, and jacanas are also seen at the park
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority is responsible for managing this park, which won the Best Open Landscape Award at the 2010 Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage award presentations.

In this park also stands the second tallest Indian National Flag, with the tallest located in Ranchi, India. Its flag post height is 291 feet, with the flag measuring 72 feet x 108 feet. The flag weighs more than 65 kgs and cost the Government Rs 3 crores. On 2 June 2016, K. Chandrashekar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, unfurled this flag to commemorate the second anniversary of Telangana’s formation following its split from Andhra Pradesh in 2014
Sanjeevaiah Park, located on Necklace Road, is a great place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature. It’s ideal to spend a pleasant afternoon with family and friends amidst the lush green surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This park is renowned for its abundance of roses i.e the rose garden, as well as its rock garden and floral clock, all of which are incredibly captivating. There is a children’s park and a butterfly park too inside the park. However alas there are no butterflies seen here.
A leisurely stroll through the green landscape is a popular activity. A special pathway has been designed for joggers and those who wish to wander around the park. Often referred to as Lover’s Park, the park is a popular destination for couples looking to enjoy its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
Sanjeevaiah Park is also a popular spot for many events, such as roller skating competitions, to campaigns promoting social awareness.
This park is open on all days from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm with a minimal entry fee. The park also gives the option to take a monthly or annual pass.

Tips:
- It’s best to go in the morning to see the park since it is not too crowded
- It’s advisable to click photographs with your mobile phone unless you want to pay Rs 1000 to take your camera in.
- There is a lot of parking space available in the space opposite the park
- The park doesn’t have too many options for food. There is just a small outlet which sells flavoured milk, chips and ice creams. However, there are a lot of eating joints on Necklace road including the well-known “Eat Street”
- Since this park is quite popular with couples, you will find a lot of these couples in and around the bushes showing public display of affection. You need to be aware of this when you are taking your kids along with you to this park
