Public Gardens or the Bagh-e-aam, located in the heart of the city in the Nampally area, is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hyderabad. About Public Gardens:

These gardens were constructed during the reign of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan in 1846, making it one of the oldest gardens in the city.
The public garden is home to many popular public buildings, including the State Legislative Assembly, the State Legislative Council, The Telangana State Archaeology Museum, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Health Museum, Contemporary Art Museum, Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Horticulture Department, and Jubilee Hall. The Public Garden also boasts a mesmerizingly large statue of Mahatma Gandhi, a must-see attraction.


These gardens also house two auditoriums: Indira Gandhi Auditorium and Telugu Lalita Kala Thoranam, an open-air theatre.

Exploring the Telangana State Archaeology Museum in the beautiful Public Gardens is a treat for art enthusiasts. Boasting an abundance of antiques and artworks, the museum is one of the most impressive collections in the nation.
The seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan constructed the museum in 1920, and the building is a fine representation of Indo-Saracenic architecture. The Mummy is believed to be the remains of Princess Naishu, daughter of the sixth Pharaoh of Egypt and is thought to have lived between 300 BC and 100 BC.

The museum also showcases a Buddhist gallery, a Brahmanical & Jain gallery, a Bronze gallery, Arms & Armour gallery, a Numismatics gallery, and an Ajanta gallery, among others.
The Contemporary Art Museum is located next to the State Museum.

In the Public Gardens is a spectacular Shahi Masjid with magnificent arches, domes, and minarets that showcases the incredible architectural finesse of the Shahi style.
The public gardens are a haven for various bird species making it a perfect spot for bird watching. Amongst them, the White Wagtail, Pied Kingfisher, Little Grebe, Common Coot, Little Egret, Common Moorhen, and Sunbirds can often be spotted.

The lakeside boating area used to be a popular destination for both children and adults. However, the lake has dried up and the Government needs to take steps to revive the lake.
The Indira Gandhi Auditorium and Jawahar Bal Bhavan, located within the garden, host a variety of art classes throughout the year. Additionally, the park hosts numerous cultural programs annually.
