Take A Stroll Through the Serene Lotus Pond of Hyderabad to Escape From the Bustle of the City
About the Lotus Pond:

Situated in the MLA Colony of Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, India, Lotus Pond is a small water body surrounded by lush green vegetation and a 1.2-kilometer path. The Lotus Pond Project was envisioned as an eco-conservation initiative, combining natural elements without disrupting the environment, and preserving the existing rocks and pond.
This is a place to take a break from the city’s concrete jungle and experience the serenity of nature. This oval-shaped lake is surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty making you appreciate the surrounding peace and tranquillity of this park.
The pond was aptly named Lotus Pond because of the abundance of Lotus flowers in its water. Unfortunately, the sight of these beautiful flowers is now a rare occurrence. This park’s 1.2 km pathway is perfect for a peaceful morning or evening stroll surrounded by captivating natural beauty. Lined with lush greenery on both sides, it’s the ideal spot for nature enthusiasts to begin their day in tranquil bliss.
At the Lotus Pond, more than 20 species of birds can be seen including the pied kingfisher, white wagtail, common moorhen, little grebe, sunbirds, common coot, and little egret.
The peaceful pathways and tranquil pond of Lotus Pond offer a refreshing escape. Yet, certain areas are in need of repair to restore its former beauty.
Visiting this place during the winter season is recommended as the season is pleasant and the park looks even more pleasant. In contrast, during the summer season, there may be fewer flowers, and the weather would be quite warm.
The Lotus Pond is open all week, from 6 am to 10 am in the morning and 4 pm to 6 pm in the evening.
If you like to have a great time then it is recommended to visit the park in the early morning hours. Although the park is open in the evenings, the ambience is not as enjoyable as the park is not adequately lit up.
There is no fee for entry to Lotus Pond.
This garden is a hidden gem and you will not find too many people here. There is nothing much to do here except that this park will help you to reconnect with nature. You can take a leisurely walk, listen to the birds chirping and admire the scenery. You can stop off at the benches along the way, where you can sit and enjoy a book. You can watch fishes and tortoises in the pond. You can also spot a lot of ducks waddling around the park.
There is plenty of parking available outside the park for both four-wheelers and two-wheelers. You will find a lot of street vendors just outside the park and you can grab a bite just in case you are hungry. The food here is quite tasty and the prices quite reasonable.
This park is a great place for photography. You will find a lot of photographers having photo shoots there. The guards may create a racket to allow your photography equipment inside and you may have to pay them some money to allow you to take your photography equipment inside. However, you will not face any issues carrying your mobile phones inside the park.
Please don’t carry any plastic bags as they are now allowed inside the park.
This pond is currently maintained by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
