History of the Hyderabad Numaish
In 1938, a group of Osmania University graduates organized the Numaish Masnuāt-e-Mulki, an Exhibition of Local Products, during the reign of the Last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan.
The Numaish was later named All India Industrial Exhibition. However, in 2009, the All India Industrial Exhibition was changed back to its original name, the Numaish.
This exhibition showcases a wide range of products from India, including dry fruits from Jammu and Kashmir, handmade garments from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh, handicraft items from all over the country, and top electronic brands.
Tips:
- When shopping at Numaish, bargaining is expected. So it’s important to hone your negotiation skills and get the best deal possible
- It is advisable to check out the things you would like to buy and then visit the exhibition in the 2nd week of February. Typically the stalls would reduce the price as they don’t want to lug the products back home. However, there are chances that the items might not be available in case the demand is quite high.
- The best way to attend Numaish is to use the Metro. It’s convenient, affordable, and faster to reach. If you were to travel by your own vehicle or a taxi, it would take at least double the time to reach your destination and also the headache of finding a parking space for your vehicle.
- If you insist to get your own vehicle then it is better to park at the designated parking place. There are a lot of scamsters who demand high parking fees in case you park in the empty lots near the Numaish
Launch of Mobile Application:
Visitors of the annual Numaish consumer exhibition can now take advantage of the newly released ‘NUMAISH’ application, accessible in Apple and Android app stores and available in four languages – Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, and English.
