History of Durgam Cheruvu:
Durgam Cheruvu Lake is a freshwater lake located between the localities of Jubilee Hills and Madhapur. It used to be called “The Secret Lake” because not many used to know about the existence of this lake many years ago and access to this lake was limited.
Today, it is a well-known spot visited by many tourists and locals alike.
This lake used to be the source of drinking water for the inhabitants of Golconda Fort.
There are a lot of rock formations surrounding the lake, which gives a very surreal feeling. These rocks are supposedly more than 200 million years old.
Of course, you can also see a lot of concrete structures and buildings around the lake, but this water haven amidst all this looks scenic and picturesque.
This lake has become even more popular after the inauguration of the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, which connects Jubilee Hills with Madhapur. This is the first and the longest cable bridge in Hyderabad and it looks very attractive at night.
This lake is a great place to go on a weekend and relax.
